The Paracas National Reservation is located in Ica, Peru. Its main purpose is to preserve the sea ecosystem and protect the historical cultural heritage.
The reserve is home to many species of wildlife, particularly birds (see Paracas Birds, whom are largely concentrated at the water's edge. The reserve also is home to Paracas Museum which provides abundant information about ancient Paracas culture and the flora and fauna of this unique region.
Within the reserve you can also find natural wonders such as La Catedral ('the Cathedral') or a mysterious historical Geoglyph called the Paracas Candelabra.
