Heathcote-Graytown National Park (the correct spelling is indeed with an 'a') is located in the North Central region of Victoria, Australia. The park, which includes sections of the Great Dividing Range, adjoins a number of state forests, including the McIvor Ranges State Forest and is located just outside the town of Heathcote.
The area's status as a national park is relatively new, having only been gazetted by the Victorian Government in 2002. This was a controversial issue at the time.[citation needed] It was primarily proclaimed to protect Victoria's diminishing box-ironbark forests, crucial in retaining Victoria's biodiversity.
The park can be accessed via the Northern Highway and is approximately 110 km from Melbourne.
